All Hallow's Eve
Pardon the long absence.
I can't really say anything blog-worthy has transpired between then and now but there was a nice Halloween party yesterday at Raver's.

Yup. Got dressed up for it and so did Jin, Sean and the two Tomokos.
My costume ... with it's kawaii-factor should, in no uncertain terms, never be underestimated in Japan. Chick-magnet for sure ^_^ even if it was quite hot.

Ready for it?

Here it is!
And that's SM-Queen Tomoko cuffing me.
Very surreal.

Thanks to the costume, I got to meet quite a few girls.
That'd be, from the left, Nana (schoolgirl), Ringo (nurse), Yoko (chinese girl?), and Yukie (vampire).

Actually, the costume made the rounds too.
Here's Ryo, who actually IS a schoolgirl, wearing the bunny suit.

And Yukie ...

And Natsuko ...

And Tomoko ...

Bunny-business aside, other costumized highlights included ...
Nobu who did a little cross-dressing in a nurse's outfit.

Cha dressed as a baby ... even had a diaper on underneath his bartender's apron.
Worryingly, the diaper appeared to be quite ... heavy.

Sean and Rasta-Jin.
I remember Jin was constantly afraid that his 'dreads' might catch fire.

Tomo and Tomo

Some guy in a Buddha mask and Ryo.
Got a shock when I found out she really is a schoolgirl.
A 16 year old one too.

Oh, Sneexe and Pat ... this one's for you.

Sean passed out at around midnight due to having been up since 530 and playing baseball.
Pah! Lightweight :p
I was up since 730 AND I studied in the morning AND had study-group in the afternoon.

Here are some pics of Jin having some fun with the unconscious Sean.

Apparently conscious enough to try and ward off some sprinkling water.

NOT conscious enough to drink the hot coffee (with Kahlua) that Jin brought over.

Okay ... I think that about wraps it up.
I'll leave you with a rather surreal picture.
A rabbit eating meat stew.

In Other News ...
Some awesome pics here!
Who comes up with the idea of setting your camera to a long exposure time, clicking the shutter, and tossing it in the air?

On the one hand, I'd love to experiment with this but on the other, I like my camera in less than a million pieces.

The Dance of Death
ugh ... I am dead on my feet.
My body officially hates me.

Jay and I went to the Nagisa Music Festival to celebrate my 26th.
And what a celebration it was too. Despite Jin and Tomoko not being here, and Sean and Tomoko not being free, Jay and I had a fantastic time.

Admittedly, things looked bleak at the start of the day. Rain. And it was an outdoor party we were going to. Poo!
Right then. Take along with me raincoat, change of clothes, towel, umbrella.

By the time we got there at 1130, it was still raining lightly and decisions, decisions ... should we take our raincoats with us? Hmm ... if it didn't rain later, we'd be lugging around dead weight. If it did, we'd be ok.

We rolled the dice and decided to leave our raincoats and bags in the coin locker in the shopping centre taking only our towels.

Half an hour after we entered the festival grounds, the rain got heavier and we were beginning to see the foolishness of our ways. Still, we'd been dancing since we got there and weren't feeling the effects of the rain at all. (Mum, I know what you're going to say).

Fortunately, not long after that, the rain stopped and the weather was great. Not sunny at all and not too cold. Magnifico!

Jay spread the word that it was my birthday to everyone we met. So I got lots of hugs, handshakes and quite a few drinks. 3 beers, a shot of whiskey, and a couple of glasses of wine. Ahh ... I love partying in Japan. Complete strangers will buy you a drink without hesitation.

And in spite of it being a rather nippy 19 degrees, some of the girls were wearing ... well ... not much at all. In the evening, one girl took off her top and danced around in her black bra.

*sigh* Is wonderful...

So, I've just got home. It's 2346 now. Just got a call from my parents (Happy Birthday, Dad!) and am now going to collapse and do my best imitation of a pile of clothes.

Have some party pics:

Wait ... who took this pic? I'm supposed to be in it.
See? That's me behind that hand!

The Birthday That Wasn't
Jin, Sean and the two Tomokos came round on Saturday to celebrate my birthday.
Yes, yes, it's a week early but since Jin and Tomo won't actually be here on that blessed day, they decided to celebrate it early with me.

I haven't really thrown a party before so it was quite nice planning it out and doing the pre-party preparations.

It turned out to be a pot-luck kind of thing with me making veg sticks (with a spicy miso-mayo dip of my own design), fried chicken, and cracker things with cheese and cherry tomatoes. Jin and Tomoko brought some chicken drumsticks, cake and some snacks. Sean and Tomoko brought some Subway subs. Everyone brought beer.

Even got some nice prezzies ... Jin and Tomoko gave me an incense holder box thing and Raja Ram's latest CD ^_^ We've been listening to it all weekend.

Sean and Tomoko gave me a nice bottle of Chianti to 'share with a lady friend' >^_^<
Now ... which lady friend to share it with ... :p
